American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA) Scholarship

This Dallas based trade group is helping stimulate the nation's economy by providing $20,000 in scholarships to our nation's young people.  This online scholarship is a very unique essay contest where instead of writing an essay, applicants will read one.  To apply, students go online and read a short essay about sprinklers and fire safety. After finishing, they complete a ten-question quiz. Each correct answer gives the student a chance at winning one of ten $2,000 scholarships.  To be eligible, applicants must be a high school senior who will attend a college, university or trade school in the United States. Winners are randomly selected to receive a scholarship payable one-time directly to their respective institution of higher learning. They have additional scholarships for Connecticut and Virginia.
