GMAIL is now available on your desktop

Access Gmail Offline 

 Great news for students who use Gmail for submitting and receiving their assignments and communicating with friends and family.  Untill now mail the major email client was available only online.  This caused problems for students who didn't have access to internet all the time.  They were not able to access their assignments or prepare emails.  But now, students can do it.  According to Tech Crunch a leading technology news blog now Gmail has gone offline with Google Gears.  ­Some of the benefits of the Google Gears are:

• It lets web applications including Gmail interact naturally with your desktop
• Store data locally in a fully-searchable database

It is a very easy to use and students should definitely explore it as a possibility.
