Scholarships for Asian Indians
Asian Indians also known as Indo Americans or Indian Americans or East Indians is one of the highly educated communities in the U.S. To promote education several oganizations have scholarshps for Asian Indians.
Association of Asian Indian Women in Ohio Scholarship for Immigrant Women
AAIWO gives scholarships to needy immigrant women who want to go to school to improve on their skills and seek good paying jobs.
Endowment for South Asian Students of Indian Descent
A $2,000 scholarship is awarded to a qualified medical student. Established by Drs. Jitendra M. and Saryu J. Desai a scholarship will be available for a South Asian Indian student enrolled full time in his/her second, third, or fourth year at an accredited Pennsylvania medical school. Applicants must be residents of Pennsylvania.
SEED Schoalrship Program
The SEED Foundation's SEED Scholar Program supports Indian youth with scholarships for higher education. Scholarship Requirements:
- Must be of Asian-Indian heritage with at least one parent of Indian origin
- Must be a graduating U.S. high school senior
- Have a minimum G.P.A of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Must enroll as a full-time undergraduate student in a U.S. university in the Fall.
The Rama Scholarship for the American Dream
JHM Hotels, Inc. established the Rama Scholarship for the American Dream with a $1,000,001 endowment. The five Rama brothers, principals in the company, emigrated from India to pursue their American Dream. It began with the ownership of one lodging property and grew into a successful operation of 25 properties with 4,000 rooms and more than 1,000 associates.
Eligibility Criteria
- Enrolled at least 9 credit hours for upcoming fall and spring semesters, or just the fall semester if graduating in December
- Undergraduate or graduate hospitality management major
- Have a minimum 2.5 G
- A U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident
Scholarship Awards
Award amounts can range from $1,000 to $3,000 depending upon enrollment and recommended amount from school. For more info, please go to the scholarship site.
William K. Schubert Scholarship
William K. Schubert Scholarship Program is designed to increase the diversity of registered nurses at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and in our community. The program grants awards annually to assist with tuition and fees for individuals who are preparing to be pediatric registered nurses that provide direct patient care. Student should be a member of one of the underrepresented groups in the registered nursing profession which include male nurses and nurses who are American Indian or Alaska Native, Appalachian, Black or African American, Hawaiian Native or other Pacific Islander, Hispanic or Latino, and any Asian including Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Asian Indian, Thai, or Vietnamese/Southeast Asian. SAJA Scholarships
Each year, the South Asian Journalists Association and SAJA Group Inc award five scholarships worth $8,500 total:
- One $1,000 scholarship to a high school senior about to enter college;
- One $1,500 scholarship to an undergraduate college student (four-year or community college);
- Two $2,000 scholarships each to graduate-level students;

Punjabi Cultural Society of Chicago Scholarship
PCS offers a $1000 scholarship to a Punjabi student on his graduation night.
