Most of the student loans are made without a lien. However, if you have Federal Student Loans or Private Student Loans you are required to pay them on time and in full unless you have qualified for a loan forgiveness program. If a person fails to pay his/her student loans, the lender or US Department of Education may be able to put a lien on student's personal property such as a home, car or paycheck.

How to Remove the Student Loan Lien
You can work with the lender and make payments on time for a while to get the lien removed. Other option is to fully pay off your student loans.
