How Students Should Handle Money During Travel

Financial planning for students while on travel is very critical.  Below are some tips:

• Prepare A Budget - You should prepare a budget for your travel.   Your budget should consider exactly how much money you need.  Then add another 20% as a safety net.
• Use Credit Cards To Buy Airlines Ticket - If you own credit cards, use them to pay for yoru air travel.  But make sure to pay it off as soon as you receive your first statement.  Purchasing an air ticket by using a credit card assures that just in case flight is canceled your money is protected.  You may also get free travel insurance and other rewards for buying a ticket on your credit card.
• Currency Exchange - Make sure to have enough cash to get the local currency exchanged.  Avoid using ATM / credit cards in a foreign country as you may be hit by heavy exchange fees and fraud.  Carrying travelers checks may be a good diea too.
• Cash At Different Places - Do not keep all the cash at the same place.  Put your cash at different places so that if at one place it is stolen you still have plenty as a backup.
