Oregen Foster Youth Education Grant

Chafee Education and Training Grant / Scholarship

Chafee education and training grant is for the foster youth who have hopes and dreams of a successful future . The State of Oregon and the federal government are helping support foster youth with their education and training after high school through  Chafee Education and Training Voucher (ETV) which is managed by DHS. Students are eligible to receive up to $4,000 per academic year. To be eligible, a student must be:

  1. in foster care, or have been in foster care for at least 180 days (six months) after your 14th birthday.
  2. was adopted from the DHS foster care system after age 16
  3. is participating in the voucher program on his/her 21st birthday. 

To apply student must apply for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and fill out eApp Chafee ETG application.  Students can also learn moer about the grant by going to the grant website.
