Ronald McDonald House Charities Scholarships

McDonald's is known for its burgers, fries and clown around the world.   But very few people know about their charitable efforts through RMHC. To help students across the country who are interested in getting higher education by attending a college, McDonalds offers various scholarships through RMHC. 

Eligibility Requirements

To apply, a student must:

  • Be a high school senior
  • Be younger than 21 years old
  • Be eligible to attend a two- or four-year college or university with a full course of study
  • Be a legal U.S. resident
  • Live in a participating RMHC Chapter’s geographic area
  • Submit a complete application and all required documentation by the deadline on the application
  • Meet any additional eligibility requirements outlined by each scholarship program
  • Verification of enrollment each year at the student’s accredited post-secondary institution

McDonalds Scholarship for Hispanic Students

Also known as the HACER scholarship, it is designed for the high school seniors with at least one parent of Hispanic heritage.  Student must be eligible to attend an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational/ technical school with a complete course of study. Applicants must be legal U.S. residents, be less than 21 years of age and have a minimum 2.7 GPA.

McDonalds Scholarship for African American Students

African American Students with at least one parent of African American or Black Caribbean heritage are eligible for African American Future Achievers Scholarship. Student must be planning to attend an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school with a complete course of study. Applicants must be legal U.S. residents, be less than 21 years of age, have a minimum 2.7 GPA

McDonalds Scholarship for Asian Students

Also known as the Asian Students Increasing Achievement scholarship this scholarship is designed for currently enrolled high school seniors who have at least one parent of Asian-Pacific heritage and who are eligible to attend an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school with a complete course of study. Applicants must be legal U.S. residents, be less than 21 years of age, have a minimum 2.7 GPA.

McDonalds Scholarship for All Students

This scholarships is open to all students including white students and women.  Scholarship recipients must enroll in and attend a two- or four year accredited college or university or vocational/technical school in the academic year following their selection. Verification of enrollment is required.
