Scholarships for SPU Students
SPU awards more than $60 million in scholarships. They have scholarships for students from every walk of life. Below is a brief discussion of some of those scholarships.
Freshmen Scholarships
To make it affordable for Freshmen students, the SPU financial aid office offers more than a dozen scholarships ranging from $500 to full tution. Students must demonstrate academic acheivements, or athletic prowess and community work.
Transfer Scholarships
Transfer students at SPU are eligible for several scholarships in the range of $500 to $10,000 for every academic years. A big portion of these scholarships is funded by the SPU Alumni.

Gates Millennium Scholarship Program
The Gates Millennium Scholars funded by aBill & Melinda Gates Foundation expands access and opportunity to higher education for students who are African-Americans, American Indians/Alaska Natives, Asian Pacific Americans, and Hispanic Americans and are enrolling at SPU and completing undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
Noyce Scholarship
The program for SPU students are interested in becoming teaching professionals in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics fields. Students are required to spend two years teaching science or mathematics in Seattle Public Schools (or other high-need districts) after graduation.
SPU Church Match Scholarship
Seattle Pacific University’s Church Match Scholarship is for students who wish to attend SPU and who are receiving a scholarship from their church. For each student, SPU will match up to $500 per academic year. “Churches” eligible to apply include: Christian churches in the United States and Canada and, for dependents of missionaries, missionary organizations in the United States and Canada.
